Actor Elijah Wood will be joined by directors and partners Daniel Noah and Josh C. Waller in producing a horror film under their genre-focused production company SpectreVision. The project will be written by Brandon Maurice Williams and directed by Jorge Michel Grau. Curse the Darkness is described as an “anthropological zombie film.”
The film takes a historical approach and is based on the roots of a zombie myth. It is based on the practice of drugging plantation slaves around the time of the Haitian Revolution of 1803. Curse the Darkness will centre on the exploitation of undocumented workers by big business. The film which will be funded and co-produced by Zodiac Features will begin filming in Louisiana in October.
