Melbourne producer, elkkle, aka Callum Baker, has put forward a follow up to track “Don’t Look Down”, entitled “Soft Erasure”. Apparently it was inspired from when one day his voice started breaking, with the tone created breaking new ground in terms of his personal creativity. He likened it to being like another person entirely.
“Soft Erasure” starts ringing, subdued yet emphatic. Light shakes complement the clicking of fingers, creating something moody and melancholy. Come the midway point, the vocals become more animated, as does the ambience of the backdrop. The subsequent soundscape then gets percussive, though light, pattering and washing over the listener.
