Emerging Australian artist, Lemonade Baby, has released his much-anticipated debut extended play, Xtra Pop, showcasing his musical journey and artistic evolution. Over the past two years, this project has been meticulously shaped, refined from an initial selection of 40 demos down to five distinguished tracks.
Previously, fans were teased with two singles, “Don’t Stop (Keep on Keepin on)” and “Tints,” which features Kevin Collett. Both tracks not only heightened the excitement for the EP but also highlighted Lemonade Baby’s distinct sound. Accompanying these singles on the Xtra Pop EP are three fresh additions. One of these, “Hounds of Love,” pays tribute to the iconic Kate Bush, reimagining her 1985 classic with Lemonade Baby’s contemporary touch.
Describing his debut offering, Lemonade Baby expressed, “‘Xtra Pop’ is an exploration of my musical evolution, blending the nostalgia of 2000’s production with my own modern vocal techniques.” Not only does the EP echo the vibes of renowned artists like Daft Punk, Fatboy Slim, and Kaytranda, but it also embodies the essence of contemporary chart-toppers like Post Malone and Playboi Carti.
Taking listeners on an emotional and vivid journey, Xtra Pop ranges from capturing the enigmatic energy of shadowy clubs to the electrifying atmosphere of pool parties and evocative late-night drives. Each song represents various life experiences, sentiments, and Lemonade Baby’s maturing as an artist.
Emphasizing the significance and depth of his debut EP, Lemonade Baby shared, “This EP is a genuine reflection of who I am as an artist. Merging my influences, experiences, and creativity, it transports me back to the 2000’s era, while infusing it with fresh elements through my vocals and modern inspirations.”
“Xtra Pop” is now available for listeners to dive into this vibrant sonic world curated by Lemonade Baby, promising an immersive experience of nostalgic beats and fresh vocalizations.
