Two days ago, a creative film-making teen in Arizona uploaded a promposal video asking Oscar-award winning actress, Emma Stone, to prom on Twitter.

The video went viral because he essentially recreated the opening scene to Emma’s most famous movie yet: La La Land. Today, the star and brains behind the video, Jacob Staudenmaier, featured on Good Morning America to talk with the hosts about the video and Emma’s response!
The teen looked a little nervous to be on such a huge show, but spoke eloquently and drew a lot of laughs from the audience for his earnest comments. He also smiled bashfully when the hosts drew attention to his resemblance of Emma’s La La Land co-star, Ryan Gosling. Oh, don’t be modest, you.
Interestingly, he also mentioned that one of his high school’s alumni also had targeted a celebrity for his promposal. Anyone remember Matt Peterson? Miley Cyrus couldn’t make prom, but made up for it by bringing him out to her Arizona show from her Bangerz tour instead.
The highlight of the interview definitely would’ve been when he was asked whether he’d heard back from Emma yet.
Jacob then answered by reading out the letter he’d received from the actress. “Jacob, thanks for making the greatest proposal I’ve ever received,” the letter began. “I can’t tell you what an honor that was and how much I smiled through that entire beautifully orchestrated video”.
But unfortunately for Jacob: “I’m in London working, but I hope you have the best time at prom, and I’m grateful you thought of me. THANK YOU”.
Though it probably couldn’t ease the blow of rejection, no matter how nicely she’d done it, she did close the letter with a cute postscript: “P.S. I do see Gosling around the eyes. Love, Emma”.
