FACT Magazine has released Pull Up: Grime Through The Eyes of Butterz, a short documentary that follows the journey of the newly established label and explores the ongoings of the Grime collective.
The 20-minute video, produced & directed by Wout Western, depics the ethos and history of Butterz as narated by co-founders Elijah & Skilliam and some of their music family associates.
Since 2010, Butterz have been representing for instrumental grime like few others and now we get an invite into an interesting look behind the scenes and a history lesson of how it all works.
The collective may still be young at heart but have already developed young producers with the likes of Royal-T, Flava D and Swindle, while also gaining the trust of the older generation with Skepta, JME, Wiley and Kano having all performed on the Butterz stage.
Its not just the big named artists that have become supporters of their hard work either but also seasoned producers with the likes of Spooky and DJ Q also becoming affiliates.
2015 is the year that marks its fifth anniversary of Butterz, and is no doubt the label’s most successful year yet.
Wiley, Footsie, P Money, Rapid and more have contributed to records on the label, and to end the year with a treat, we now have a double-CD compilation of Grime in 2015.
