Harry Potter fans are amongst the most devoted in the world. Therefore the internet is likely going to be sent into overload next week when the Harry Potter spin-off film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, releases its first trailer. A short teaser video was released earlier today, and was accompanied by the news of a full-length trailer to be released on December 15.
The beloved author of Harry Potter, the boy who lived (with knobbly knees), J.K. Rowling, has returned to pen the script of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and David Yates, the director of the final 4 Harry Potter movies, will head up this new project. But don’t expect to see the boy with the lightning-bolt scar or hear any mention of Lord Voldemort as Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set 70 years before the events of the books, following the New York adventures of Newt Scamander, a magizoologist whose name should be known by every magical animal-lover.
It cannot be considered a prequel to the previous films, but just another entry to that magical world. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and also features Colin Farrell, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Samantha Morton. The film is due to be released November 16. 2016 but you can view the short announcement trailer below.
