If you do not know Feng Chen Wang, you have to keep an eye on her. She was one of the former finalists of the coveted LVMH Prize.
Feng Chen Wang is really passionate about the Levi’s brand, which led her to make the trip to San Francisco to see the archives of the brand. Last year, Wang and Levi’s collaborated on their 501 Jeans line. Now, they have reunited for Levi’s new Spring and Summer 2019 capsule collection.
The key theme of this collaboration is deconstruction. There are four denim jackets and three pairs of jeans in the collection. The shades differ significantly; beginning with the dark indigo to light and washed-out.
Moreover, in the collection, you will find dynamite-themed embroidery. You’ll find purple dynamite sticks on jeans, some apparel and caps, and the phrase “Do not hold in hand after lighting” on a pair of jeans.
To create her pieces, Wang looked back to the past to imagine more modern style.
You will be able to find the capsule collection in the SSENSE web store. Unfortunately, no official release date has been announced but it will probably be sometime in the near future.
