With so many Marvel characters set to appear in Captain America: Civil War it is essentially Avengers 2.5. Marvel have now released the first trailer for the film that it is set to pit Robert Downey Jnr’s Iron Man against Chris Evans’ Captain America. This will have huge ramifications for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the film presents a legal, moral and philosophical rift between the major characters based on the comic book of the same name.
The trailer offers the first glimpse of Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther and Joe and Anthony Russo are back on directing duties after the success of Captain America: The Winter Solider. Government forces represented by William Hurt‘s returning General Ross believe the collateral damage has been too high and superheroes need regulation. In the post SHIELD/Hydra age this is not something Captain America believes in and Ironman stands on the other side of the conflict.
The trailer opens with an extension of the scene seen at the end of the Ant-man credits and ends with a brutal fight between Iron Man, Captain America and The Winter Solider. “Sorry Tony. You know I wouldn’t do this if I had any other choice…..” Choose your side in the trailer below.
