Flavour Thrills OVO Arena Wembley With ‘African Royalty’ Concert

Nigerian highlife star Flavour captivated a sold-out crowd of 12,500 at the OVO Arena Wembley on August 25, marking a high point on his ‘African Royalty’ European Summer 2024 tour.

This performance comes a year after his successful UK tour, which saw an added London date due to high demand. The Wembley show is part of Flavour’s ongoing European tour, which kicked off in France in June and will conclude in the Netherlands in September before moving on to North America and West Africa.

The tour is named after Flavour’s latest album, African Royalty, released in December to positive reviews. The album, a celebration of African culture and music, has amassed over 200 million global streams and produced hits like “Big Baller” and “Her Excellency.” Flavour explains, “It’s a title that speaks to me and captures the essence of my music. There are positive sides to us as Africans that are not given enough attention.”

Known as Africa’s Highlife King, Flavour has been a key figure in African music, blending traditional highlife with contemporary influences such as jazz, afrobeat, and pop. His discography includes popular albums like “N’abania,” “Uplifted,” “Blessed,” and “Thankful,” which have produced classic hits such as “Nwa Baby” and “Ada Ada.”

Beyond his music, Flavour’s live performances are celebrated worldwide, making him one of Africa’s most sought-after performers. His philanthropic efforts through the Chinedu Okoli Foundation have raised over $3 million for children in 50 African countries.

With numerous accolades from MTV Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA, and The Headies, Flavour’s impact on the African music scene remains profound, showcasing his commitment to his cultural roots and his innovative approach to music.
