St Germain, the Parisian deep house/blues/jazz connoisseur plays his only UK gig of 2015 to support his new album Real Blues. This is, frankly, the best news since Milk Vodka. The return of such a brilliant artist after a 15 year hiatus is something worth getting excited about. 1995’s Boulevard is one of the finest house album’s to date and Tourist – released in 2000 – Sold 4 million copies worldwide.
Real Blues is St. Germain at his most abstract, working with African musicians and traditional Malian instruments. The artwork for the album is equally as interesting, Parisian artist Gregos creates lifelike faces that pop out of street walls. St. Germain has 14 shows across Europe in November and December. You can catch him in London @ Troxy on the November 17 with support from Atjazz. Tickets can be bought on Resident Advisor. Maybe i’ll see you there.
