Right now, I, personally, would imagine Hollywood A-Lister Anne Hathaway is having a Michael Corleone The Godfather Part III moment: “Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.” Of course I’m probably wrong and Anne Hathaway probably looks back on The Princess Diaries with fond memories (though even she can’t claim that the second one was any good).
Regardless, it has been announced that Anne Hathaway may well be teaming up again with Garry Marshall to make a third entry in the princess fairy tale series. According to People magazine, Marshall and Hathaway are both keen on the idea:
“I was with Anne Hathaway a couple weeks ago, it looks like we want to do Princess Diaries 3 in Manhattan. Anne Hathaway is very pregnant, so we have to wait until she has the baby and then I think we’re going to do it.”
Despite their interest, nothing is concrete; Hathaway has had a busy schedule, having just completed work on Alice Through the Looking Glass and Colossal, and may well want to take time out of acting to spend time with her newborn once it arrives.
She has also stated in the past that she deliberately distanced herself from any Mia-like roles to avoid being stereotyped. Since then she has gone on to establish herself as an actress of phenomenal talent, starring in incredible films such as Interstellar, The Devil Wears Prada, Brokeback Mountain, Les Misérables and Don Jon.
