Geko’s new effort, “Hold On”, echoes with what seems a tad of autotune and plenty of, you could suppse, soul. The lyrics are really from the heart, speaking of his mother and the bond he shares with her. It has a reggae sort of tempo to it, and could perceivably get people moving on the dancefloor, if it were not for the serious lyrical content.
The closing moments feature a refrain, really letting his vocals ring out and breathe. The backdrop then fades out, delicate and tender like his words throughout the track. His style seems to be primarily hardcore, but this time things are different and he really proves his versatility as not just a rapper, but a musician.
