Singer-songwriter and producer George Wilks released his debut single “Ecstasy” earlier today.
Crafting a pop-funk fusion coloured with hints of jazz, this 22-year-old musician from Pulborough will appeal to fans of artists like Jamie Cullum and Jon Bellion.
The debut track “Ecstasy” showcases Wilks’ undeniably smooth, jazz-tinged voice, packaging it within a catchy pop song. Uplifting and melodic, the track builds slowly, producing a hugely rewarding finale effect; towards the end of the track, the sound climaxes into a beautifully blended choir comprising layers of Wilks’ velvety voice, injecting an explosive dose of soul into the track.
Having studied Music and Sound Recording at university where he found a home onstage during open mic nights, the University of York graduate is now writing and recording music from his home in Sussex. George Wilks is presently building a name for himself while performing at a range of venues across London, Guildford and Brighton. His next appearance will be at the Mark Alive Comedy Variety Show at the Dominion Centre this Boxing Day, followed by a performance at The Lucky Pig cocktail bar with HOT VOX on Tuesday January 28.
