Grandbrothers, are made up of Erol Sarp and Lukas Vogel, who as it stands aren’t blood bothers but brothers in hand. The duo produce most of their music using the grand piano, and every track from their debut album Dilation incorporates the use of this primary instrument. Although the textures, beats and synthesise provided in new single “Naive Rider” may create the allusion that its been put together by a number of instruments, I’m here to tell you that everything you hear comes from the one instrument.
Lukas, the technical wiz of the group developed a system of electrical hammers that could be controlled via the use of a laptop which ‘play’ the piano, allowing the duo to discover the beautifully unique sound. Overall “Naive Rider” is an incredible display of heart felt expressive music, which not only holds an aspect of forward thinking but holds a traditional stance on the listener.
