A tweet by director Guillermo Del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy, Pacific Rim) has announced his involvement in creating an adaptation for CBS of controversial children’s book Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark by Alvin Schwartz.
The original series of books based on various folklore and urban legends featured artwork by Stephen Gammell that proved too terrifying for children, earning it a ban in some places for being unsuitable for younger readers, but has proven to be appealing material for Del Torro, who is a fan of the series of books himself and should hopefully be jumping into the role and director as well as producer should his current schedule allow it.
