Goop, currently a website focused on maintaining a healthy lifestyle, will now be expanded into a clothing line. Goop will also launch a cosmetic range as well as other Goop branded goods. The move was made official by the appointment of a new CEO Lisa Gersh. Lisa was previously the CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia. Gwyneth started Goop in London 2008, and after her recent split with Chris Martin, she moved to LA and through a mutual friend and fitness Guru Tracy Anderson, she met Lisa.
Goop has dabbled within the fashion industry previously, collaborating with Diane Von Furstenberg creating a number items to be sold specifically for the website. Stella McCartney has also been rumored to be creating a range just for Goop. Paltrow stated, “Lisa is a visionary leader, with unparallel creativity and savy”. Sounds like a match made in heaven.
