Harry Styles, the former One Direction singer, has reportedly signed a record deal worth $80 million, which exchanges at £60-odd million. The big deal with Columbia Records will entail three solo albums from the ladies’ favourite, meaning that a 1D hiatus could be prolonged.
Apparently Apple initially offered $25m for one album, which then forced Columbia to submit a more substantial offer. The winning bid was said to be in the $75-£80 million range. The reported signing means Styles will be plugging away at a debut release in the months to come.
The 22-year-old popstar is currently filming the Christopher Nolan World War II drama, Dunkirk. He is also said to be in the running to portray Mick Jagger in an upcoming Rolling Stones biopic, too. The release date of any solo material appears to be under wraps at the moment, though no doubt his fanatical following will wait regardless.
