I think everyone has a bucket list, some people tick the challenges off as the years go by, and most people, like myself have a mental unplanned diary that says one day I will jump out of that plane, attempt five minutes of stand up and maybe climb Everest. Well after seeing this film I am left in no doubt, I never want to climb Everest, the risk versus the reward just does not match up.
The film is based on true events and follows three different groups of climbers, it kind of feels like a documentary the way it is filmed, hats off to the cast, Jason Clarke, John Hawkes and Josh Brolin for making it seem so realistic. If you are thinking of taking on this great mountain, I seriously advise not watching this film before hand, as a film it will motivate you, shock you and leave you feeling kind of queasy.
