Not only has she had the very public decline of her relationship with ex-fiancé, Nick Young, but now the Australian rapper, Iggy Azalea, is said to be facing the added problem of money worries. Apparently, Azalea owes $269,980 in federal taxes from last year. Iggy and her representatives seem to be playing it down, though.
“It is nothing more than an internal accounting error that has already been taken care of,” an insider has told media.
Furthermore, back in April it was reported that the 26-year-old was hit with a $391,056.55 fine, whereby property and the like could be held by the taxman until payment was made. This was in relation to unpaid taxes from 2014.
Azalea later responded to reports on Twitter, insisting media were making a mountain out of a molehill as payment plans had already been setup: “The IRS gave the option to pay them monthly or lump sum. i picked monthly, who wouldnt? Its like writing ‘iggy pays a mortgage on her house every month!’ and trying to make it a story. Its not a story. Lol”.
She remains quiet about the current reports, though. Perhaps only those earning the megabucks of a worldwide popstar could shrug off the spectre of a combined total of $661,000 in unpaid taxes hanging over their heads?
