The band STRVCK has just released a heartwarming single “Day One” and there is no doubt that this track will be number one for car karaoke for long roads.
STRVCK takes its name after a near-fatal incident in which singer Chelsea Seth Woodward was putting a key into his car’s driver’s side door when he was struck by a lightning bolt. He was then taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he was found to have a significant head wound, a concussion, and some short-term memory loss. He miraculously survived the incident unharmed for the long term.
Early in 2020, Chelsea and fellow artist Drew Walker from Austin, Texas, teamed up to form STRVCK, songwriting and performing a duet. Max Frost, their executive producer (and occasionally co-writer), assisted them in making their debut album, “Day One.”
The band has already made available five of the album’s nine songs, with the most recent being the title track, “Day One” (Dec 2nd, 2022). STRVCK set out to write a song about bonds that stand the test of time.
The indie/pop/rock ballad “Day One” extols unwavering fidelity between lovers and friends. It has a real, heartfelt chorus that is ideal for sing-along car trips.
“We wrote “Day One” with the help of our executive producer and (sometimes) co-writer, Max Frost. We wanted it to be about a “ride or die” companion that sticks with you through thick and thin. It has the makings of a heartfelt ballad, mixed with an anthemic car ride sing-along. It’s a declaration of friendship and loyalty. We were so pleased with how it turned out, we decided to name our record after it.” the band stated about the song.
With their live performances in and around Texas, the band has been acquiring a lot of momentum and will be expanding its audience steadily over the coming year.
They have shared the stage with well-known performers like Blackillac, Me nd Adam, Zach Person, and Night Cap in only the past 18 months of live performances.
Their tracks have been added to hundreds of playlists, including a special section on Apple Music‘s “New in Alternative,” and have already received around 200,000 streams. They have just begun, and they don’t have any immediate intentions to slow down.
