From receiving a New England Music Award for Soul/R&B Act of the Year in 2022; to a nomination in the Female Performer Of The Year Awards category in 2023, Boston indie soul artist Jill McCracken has released her newest single “Danger Detector”.
Originally from western New York, Jill has a strong love for songwriting and began developing her singing talents from the age of 19; as well as an eye for sentimental visuals which is through a BFA in Fine Art Photography from the Rochester Institute Of Technology.
Jill McCracken has now made roots in the Boston music community through her songwriting passions as well as producing has set her centre stage with some big band performances in the Brighton Music Hall with numerous fans lining awaiting for her performance.
Drawing from venerability, Jill’s latest single “Danger Detector” described in her own words; “danger detector has more questions than answers. Can I take my defences down and relax or should I be on high alert?”
Using songwriting as a safe space to share feelings, “Danger Detector” represents Jill’s whispered metaphors and soulful singing which is apparent throughout the single. This song is about, the fuzziness of a relationship, paired alongside the backdrop of Jill’s own psychology.
After wrapping up 2023 with a West Coast tour, Jill McCracken is not done as she releases her new EP Idle, which features her single “Danger Detector”.
