Back in January Collider reported that The Impossible director J.A. Bayona had stepped back from directing World War Z 2, wooed over by Universal’s offer to direct Jurassic World 2. It seems to be set into stone now, film producer Frank Marshall confirming the decision over twitter.
He commented:
“Thrilled to announce JA Bayona is on board to direct JW2. Welcome to the team @FilmBayona!”
Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow sounded his support for Bayona on Twitter, commenting:
“Proud to collaborate with one of my favorite filmmakers on the next Jurassic adventure. JA Bayona, it’s all yours.”
