Good news for all of you who are still mourning the end of the Harry Potter series, J.K Rowling‘s spin off, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is due to start production this summer! Producer David Heyman has been speaking to Collider about David Yates‘ adaptation, he’s revealed when production is due to start and that Harry Potter production designer, Stuart Craig, will also be returning to the team.
While two more sequels have been announced, Heyman was keen to reiterate that they’ll wholly be focusing on the first; “We’re making just one film, but I believe there’s been talk about it being three. But we’re just talking about it as one”. The producer continued to discuss the project, briefly touching upon casting; establishing that they were in the very early stages; “Early, early, early days. Really early days. I mean we’re at the very beginning”.
It will be really interesting to see what Warner Bros will end up doing with this new possible franchise and whether it will live up to the huge legacy that Harry Potter has left. While I’m pretty excited to see how this could end up, I’m guessing major HP fans are feeling pretty anxious! Sit tight guys, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them is expected to arrive in theatres November 18, 2016.
