British Nigerian singer and songwriter Jacob Banks has just released his latest single “Unknown (To You)” from his forthcoming album on Interscope/Polydor Records. The single was produced by Robin Hannibal and mixed by Tom Elmhirst. The song was premiered as a ‘World First’ on Beats1 by Zane Lowe, who co-wrote the track with the singer.
The track was first featured on his critically-acclaimed EP The Paradox, but because it has always held a special meaning to the singer, it was recently revisited and then the artist inspired by the new arrangement, felt compelled to lead with it as the introduction to his first full-length album.
Jacob Banks started his career at the age of 20, as a self-taught musician then after recording songs for friends, he self-released The Monologue EP in 2013, followed up by The Paradox EP in 2015 and his Interscope/Polydor Records debut The Boy Who Cried Freedom EP earlier in 2017.
Now after having supported different famous artists such as Alicia Keys, Sam Smith and Emeli Sandé on tour, he will embark on his own tour Into The Wild this autumn with dates in Europe, North America, Ireland and the UK. Listen to the new track below.
