JaJa Kisses has a light, airy voice, one at odds with a sometimes industrial backdrop, especially in “Silver Knickers”. The beat pulsates and throbs, whilst her vocals just float over the top. It is set against cold, sharp drums, a stark contrast. A vocal refrain then washes over the listener, reaching to the skies.
The video for that song, “Silver Knickers”, is directed by Dimitri Martin, with cinematography by Luke Harper, and all of which is edited by Lauren Bernard. The largely pink, purple and silver backdrop is, now and again, pitted against the tough inner city streets, mostly grey, as if to convey, say, a rose rising from the concrete.
