Universal Pictures have released their first domestic and international trailers for their survival blockbuster Everest. The film focuses on two separate expeditions climbing the world’s highest peak, led by Scott Fischer (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Rob Hall (Jason Clarke). Inspired by real events, it charts the rapidly changing emotions and relationships between the climbers, as they struggle against the perilous mountain rises, collapsing ice, sub-zero temperatures and oxygen-deprived air of the Himalayas.
The hugely-anticipated drama is directed by Baltasar Kormakur (2 Guns) and written by Mark Medoff and Simon Beaufoy. Alongside Gyllenhaal and Clarke, Everest stars Josh Brolin, Josh Hawkes, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly, Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley and Emily Watson. Everest will be released in 2D, 3D and IMAX on September 18.
