Australian producer, Golden Vessel, is releasing a remix of James Blake’s “I Need A Forest Fire”, featuring Bon Iver; and “Drone Bomb Me”, featuring Anohni. This comes together to form “I Need A Drone Bomb”. Golden Vessel also released his Before Sleep EP, which came out Tuesday, June 21.
“I Need A Drone Bomb” shimmers and rings, like a psychedelic fairground ride. It then starts with a clarity that might catch you off guard, before settling into a steady, pounding beat. A slow burner, definitely. A peculiar, seemingly stretched, vocal refrain kicks in before resuming normal service. Something similar is then repeated in the closing moments.
