After announcing on his Instagram that the video for his collaboration with Travis Scott and Metro Boomin was going to drop over the weekend, James Blake delivers on his promise, releasing the video for his massive track “Mile High” and it most certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The video starts off with Scott casually running into Blake who’s in a café. Director Nabil has clearly taking artistic direction from Jordan Peele‘s critically acclaimed 2017 movie Get Out, as the pair descend into the ‘sunken place’ while Blake stirs his tea. It gets pretty psychedelic from then on as the pair perform the song in the gloomy underworld inside Blake’s mind.
“Mile High” appears on James Blake’s recently released fourth studio album Assume Form. Blake is preparing to go on tour for his new album, kicking off on February 18 in Atlanta and concluding on March 16 in Los Angeles. Travis Scott, meanwhile, is complemented with a major performance at the Super Bowl 53 Halftime show with Maroon 5 over the weekend.
