“Me And You”, courtesy of recent Jamie Lidell album, Building A Beginning, has got the lyric video treatment. Purchase it, here. The song, co-written by Jamie and his wife, Lindsey Rome, was used last week by Hillary Clinton’s camp as a soundtrack to powerfully impassion people to vote Democrat.
“Me And You” is downbeat, sparse like a Sixties’ guitar track. Morose. The vocals are very soulful and heart on the sleeve. Licks of bass guitar, and drum getting steadily more animated, takes the song in another direction. The volume feels as if it is getting steadily more pronounced, but before long a fadeout arrives.
The lyric video opens simply red, dandelions appearing. There is a multitude of instances whereby the words popping up on screen reflect the words sung on the track, rather than just merely displaying the words and no more. It seems no instances occur whereby the words are ever delivered the same way twice.
