Japan’s very own musical equivalent of wallowing in melancholy, MONO, have just revealed the first taste of their new album, Requiem For Hell, entitled “Ely’s Heartbeat”. Very much like a funeral procession, but, at the same time, elegant with the refined restraint of regal beauty.
Do not assume that, because this taste of what is to come clocks almost eight and a half minutes, that it is their longest effort on the album. In fact, the title track amounts to almost eighteen minutes, believe it or not. Requiem For Hell itself is out Friday, October 14 on Temporary Residence Ltd.
