This sounds a a match made in film heaven. After turning in successes such as Requiem for a Dream, The Wrestler, Black Swan and The Fighter, you would be wise to get excited for any new Darren Aronofsky project. So, be excited. Go ahead. We have known since October that Jennifer Lawrence was attached to a new, untitled Aronofsky project, but now it seems the project is gathering steam as it has been announced that Javier Bardem, fate-obsessed hitman and glossy blonde Bond villain, is in talks to join the project himself.
According to Variety, Paramount will handle the movie while the talented Mr. Aronofsky directs, produces and writes it. As is usually the case at this point in the development process, the plot is vague, apparently revolving around a happy couple whose existence is thrown into danger when some uninvited guests show up at their home. Sounds like the beginning to 80% of Horror films.
Unfortunately there is not much more information, only that Aronofsky is hopeful that the film will be out next year. Keep your ear to the ground for more news. In the meantime, Jennifer Lawrence has won a Golden Globe for Joy, which is in cinemas now, and Javier Bardem will be playing the villain in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales which will not be arriving until 2017. Please stop now, Disney, it’s not funny anymore.
