We’ve been treated with some more music from the Black Panther soundtrack! TDE’s Jay Rock enlists the help of labelmate Kendrick Lamar and Future for the brand new “King’s Dead“. This acts as the follow-up and a sharp contrast to the more soulful “All The Stars” with SZA and Kendrick which debuted last week. Read more on that here.
Produced by Mike WiLL Made-It and featuring contributions from James Blake, both Jay and Kendrick give us fiery verses and Future gives his notable auto-tune finesse. While the first half is typical trap/hip-hop, the latter half is very trippy and more sinister. The duality is worth mentioning and shows the artists off at their best.
It is reported that this powerful single will also serve as Jay Rock’s first single for his upcoming album – good choie! The movie soundtrack Black Panther: The Album is out February 9 via Top Dawg/Interscope while Black Panther premieres in theaters on February 16th.
