When the jump-and-fright Jeepers Creepers snuck its way into cinemas in 2001, it made a decent return which lead to its sequel relatively soon after in 2003, which was met with far less critical acclaim than its predecessor. But just like The Creeper himself, nothing is dead and buried for long, with the announcement by Myriad Pictures that Jeepers Creepers 3 will go into production next year.
The story will follow a returning Brandon Smith as Sergeant Davis Tubbs whose run in with The Creeper (Jonathan Breck) in the first film sends him down a path for revenge. Returning director of the previous two instalments in the franchise, Victor Salva revealed “We are bringing back the Creeper’s truck, and will be addressing the big questions about The Creeper: what it is, where it came from and why it does what it does“.
Legendary director Francis Ford-Coppola will also return to produce alongside Kirk D’Amico when the film goes into production in Vancouver early 2016.
