Jennifer Lopez is back with her first single of 2019! Ahead of her upcoming tour, the much renowned entertainer keeps the music flowing with “Medicine” featuring French Montana. The two New Yorkers have worked together in the past on her 2014 single “I Luh Ya Papi”.
It looks like the two are relighting their chemistry on this club-ready, Stargate produced track. The single is rousingly horn heavy and infectious with a groove. It’s definitely synonymous with the sounds of early Amerie with the ‘big band’ feel but with a twist. Cast your mind back to Amerie’s #1 hit “1 Thing” and the Rich Harrison-produced album Touch.
“Think you need some medicine / I could be your medicine / Give you a taste of what you give out,” sings Lopez over the array of horns, slick guitars and drum rolls. Her ‘Bronx brother’ French Montana brings the uptown vibes. A popular act for features, his suave delivery doesn’t disappoint.
The newly-engaged singer-actress, who will celebrate her 50th birthday in July, is also currently shooting the stripper film Hustlers and gearing up to hit the road on her brand new tour It’s My Party: The Live Celebration, beginning in June. She will also debut the music video for “Medicine” this Sunday, April 7 on NBC’s World of Dance.
