During London Fashion Week, Adidas Original has associated with Ji Won Choi, a British designer, for the third collaboration of the brand with an emerging female fashion designer. The collection is composed of 17 women’s ready to wear pieces.
According to WWD, the English designer was discovered on Instagram by Adidas. The director of special projects for Adidas, Alexandra Weiland, said “it’s important for us to give a new platform for young designers. London has such an appetite for emerging design talents”.
Born in Seoul and raised in the midwest of the USA, Ji Won Choi has been inspired by her Korean heritage. Indeed, she has working on the classic tracksuit shapes to change them in lavender, blue, red, green and pink. To create a sense of movement, the three bands stripes have been used in some parts of the clothes.
“The collection is a play on the classic Adidas tracksuit merged with my own aesthetic. The silhouettes suggest movement, such as the addition of strap pieces to encourage the wearer to interact with the clothing” Choi tolds Forbes.
The Adidas Originals x Ji Won Choi collection is available worldwide since February 23. You can find the pieces on the brand’s e-commerce, on flagship location and select retail partners.
