Joan Osborne unveils her new single “Tangled Up In Blue” from her forthcoming new album titled Songs Of Bob Dylan out in September. Songs Of Bob Dylan is the ninth studio album from the artist that has been nominated seven times at the Grammy award.
“Tangled Up In Blue” is a country song not particularly remarkable but well executed. Joan Osborne is a long-time artist and her performances are always intense and convincing. The artist offers very mature and interesting lyrics for this song.
Speaking about the track she explained: “We ended up listening to Dusty Springfield’s ‘Dusty in Memphis’, some of the classic Memphis recordings of that time, to see if we could flavour the Dylan song with some of that stuff. It’s a very lengthy song, and that’s why people tend to do it at this rapid-fire pace, to get this epic story out there, but I wanted something that would put a different spin on it. I wanted to give it a more feminist spin, a different kind of energy.”
