“Land Of The Free” is the new track off of Joey Bada$$’s new LP, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$. The music video is political and moving as he addresses the pressing issues plaguing American society.
The video has scenes showing the KKK lynching and police officers who, at the end of the video, reveal their identity as the KKK members. These scenes are juxtaposed to the scenes of Joey and some black children running free.
The video vividly etches the lyrics that Joey is rapping “land of the free is for the free loaders/Still got the name of our slave owners”. The beat easily gets you bopping your head. This is my first time really paying attention to Joey‘s music and I am impressed with the outcome of the production.
