Coming straight out of Houston, fast-rising rapper John Ibe is back with a bang with his brand new single titled “F.O.M.“. The OG Maco affiliate’s new joint is taken from his long-awaited forthcoming EP JIBE, which is set for release in the summer, and is a follow-up on from his acclaimed 2016 mixtape Obstructed Environments.
Produced by EZM, “F.O.M.” is a hard-hitting rap track from John Ibe, backed by daunting grand piano arrangements, and highlighted by the Houston native’s trademark assured cadence, vivid wordplay and infectious rap flow. It’s a retrospective track and is a straight up chilling declaration to those he’s not messing with anymore.
Speaking about the inspiration behind his new single, John Ibe says, “the song came from being around supposed friends who claim they have your back, but turn on you in time of need. ‘F.O.M’ is a defiant song to listen to, when you feel like you have been betrayed, or people are against you.”
From emerging on the scene in 2015 with his seminal debut mixtape The Departure, John Ibe has seen his stock steadily rising ever since, with co-signs from the likes of Joey Bada$$ and collaborations with A$AP Mob, Odd Future and Allan Kingdom to mention a few.
