This year’s Grammy Awards enlisted some of the music industry’s biggest stars to bid farewell to those rock legends lost this past year. Honoured were Lemmy of Motorhead and B.B. King. Throughout the night were a number of musical tributes.
New supergroup Hollywood Vampires made a raucous salute to Lemmy. The band consist of Alice Cooper, Johnny Depp and Joe Perry. Lemmy died on Monday, December 28 just days after learning he had cancer.
Earlier in the night, legendary blues guitarist B.B. King was celebrated by fellow blues legend Bonnie Raitt, guitar virtuoso Gary Clark Junior and country music sensation Chris Stapleton. B.B. King passed away last May following a myriad of health problems. There were also musical tributes for Glenn Frey of The Eagles and Maurice White of Earth, Wind & Fire.
