Julian Casablancas has recently spoken with Noisey’s Kim Taylor Bennett for one of his most comprehensive interviews yet, in which he discussed an array of things, from politics to the possibility of a new Strokes album. You can read the full interview here.
Casablancas’ last output was his album Tyranny, with his band The Voidz, however, it seems that he is prepared to hit the studio once again, to create the follow up to 2013’s un-toured Comedown Machine, the second album to feature the writing technique where Julian would write lyrics in a completely different place to the band, after the music had been recorded.
However, we can expect a more collaborative album, as Casablancas also made the point of saying that the interpersonal relationships in the band are “good now“. The frontman of the band stated in the interview that they’re “planning on record stuff”, whether this is before or after their selection of live Festival shows this summer is yet to be seen.
