Following various casting rumours floating this week, JoBlo now reports that Warner Bros has a shortlist of directors for the dark fantasy superhero film Justice League Dark. The studio has reportedly nailed to down their choices to two options: directorial team Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado, the duo behind the Isreali crime thriller Big Bad Wolves, and Fede Alvarez, the Uruguayan filmmaker who helmed the remake of Evil Dead.
The screenplay for Justice League Dark was written by Guillermo Del Toro, who was previously attached to direct but left due to scheduling conflicts. Based on the DC Comics team of the same name, the film’s roster is said to include John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, Zatanna, Etrigan, and Madame Xanadu. No release date has been set for Justice League Dark yet, but Warner Bros supposedly hopes for production to begin sometime next year.
