Kae Tempest has revealed the second single titled “No Prizes” featuring Lianne La Havas from their upcoming album The Line Is A Curve, as they continue to pursue their journey into a new path.
The Westminster born playwright, poet, novelist and spoken word artist started to perform at the age of 16, when they quit school. Backed by huge figures such as Benjamin Zephaniah and Billy Bragg, Kae came up as one of the most identified performance artists iin the United Kingdom, gathering great audiences from her performances at the likes of Glastonbury and Leeds Festivals.
Kae Tempest and Lianne La Havas have known each other for quite a long time now and have decided to come up with a collaboration of two different styles. The brightened lyrics of Kae Tempest and indie folk neo soul vibes of Lianna La Havas are perfectly complementary of each other.
Speaking about the collaboration, Kae says, “Made a song with my good friend and mind-blowing artist Lianne La Havas. So grateful for her voice in the world and on this record. A portrait of three people getting on with getting on. I just got to keep climbing”.
The song has three parts about people who have been given lessons in life and find a way to get through it and look forward. Kae Tempest’s full album will be released on April 8, so stay tuned and watch the “No Prizes” video here:
