KAMI teamed up with Vic Mensa, Joey Purp and Knox Fortune in the visuals for “Home Movies”. The track also has Knox on production, and is the first off KAMI’s upcoming debut LP, coming early 2017.
“Home Movies” is a moody and impassioned effort. It has an Eighties keyboard vibe to it, and the vocals sound like they are in pain. This is almost like melding a slick pop backdrop with singing that has not a care in the world to appeal to the mainstream.
The video, directed by Andre Muir, takes place in a diner where an employee waits for her last customers to leave the building. When they do file out she has flights of fancy, dancing in the diner as the spotlight falls upon her. The cliché of it all being a dream is heartbreaking.
