KidSuper has officially launched its record label, KidSuper Records, with the release of its debut single, “Big In Da Game.” This track features a dynamic collaboration between British rapper Giggs and American hip-hop artist Quavo, combining their distinct styles for a fresh listening experience.
The music video for “Big In Da Game,” directed and produced by KidSuper Studios, showcases Giggs, Quavo, and KidSuper founder Colm Dillane dressed in pieces from the String Theory collection. The video employs a cinematic aesthetic inspired by series like Peaky Blinders and films such as Snatch, adding a stylish flair to the collaboration.
“Big In Da Game” originated from a partnership between KidSuper and Giggs, who first connected in Brooklyn outside the KidSuper headquarters on Roebling Street. Their collaboration took shape when Giggs was in the area filming a music video for “Starlets” with Dave East.
This creative partnership led to an original track crafted for KidSuper’s String Theory 24 show at Paris Fashion Week. The performance caught the attention of Quavo, who joined Giggs on stage at the official afterparty. Energized by the experience, Giggs invited Quavo to contribute a verse, resulting in the enhanced version of the track that listeners can enjoy today.
Founded by Colm Dillane, KidSuper is a multifaceted creative platform that encompasses a clothing label, art shows, music recording, and filmmaking, all centered in a Brooklyn space. Although best known for its clothing line, Dillane’s vision extends to various artistic avenues.
Giggs has established himself as a cornerstone of UK rap, with his debut album Walk In The Park (2008) serving as a blueprint for the genre. Known as ‘The Landlord,’ he has released five studio albums and multiple mixtapes, consistently pushing boundaries in his music. Giggs has collaborated with prominent artists like Drake, Ed Sheeran, and Stormzy and recently released Zero Tolerance (2023), featuring artists like 21 Savage and Popcaan.
As a multi-platinum selling rapper, singer, and record producer, Quavo is known for his chart-topping hits and collaborations with icons such as Madonna, Drake, and Justin Bieber. His solo debut album, Quavo Huncho, released in 2018, received widespread acclaim, followed by the successful Rocket Power in 2023.
As a member of the Grammy-nominated trio Migos, Quavo has significantly impacted hip-hop, contributing to the group’s acclaimed albums, including the RIAA Certified Platinum CULTURE and its sequel.
