The Young Kingz might be on the long way home but they aren’t slowing down for much. Krept & Konan have just dropped their summer smash for the gyaldem titled “Freak Of The Week” featuring US R&B star Jeremih, and on the same day signed their first major publishing deal with Sony.
Set to land on June 28 (one week prior to the release of the duo’s debut album), “Freak Of The Week” produced by DJ Mustard and ADP hears the Play Dirty duo move to something more dancehall/US-themed – a departure from their earlier efforts, yet a strong piece that’s likely to further expand on the buzz of their full record. After announcing it would be the first official single from The Long Way Home last week, “Freak Of The Week” premiered earlier last night with Mistajam on BBC 1Xtra and now we finally get to see the visual featuring Jeremih. Check out the video below.
With the news of the Play Dirty duo’s major publishing deal with Sony earlier this week, their first album due to drop in almost exactly two months, a UK tour on the way and possibly a free EP of unreleased tracks (if Krept’s tweets are anything to go by), along with a couple of other videos including one featuring Bikelife TV UK… these two really aren’t playing right now. It’s looking set to be a very exciting year for the boys from the 7. Pre-order “Freak Of The Week” on iTunes here, and pre-order Krept And Konan’s forthcoming debut album here.
