Belgian singer-songwriter Kristiaan Deruytter, known by his stage name Kristo, unveils his deeply personal journey through his latest EP Childhood. Scheduled for release on March 22, 2024, this EP offers a glimpse into Kristo’s world with its genuine and heartfelt compositions.
Opening with “I Am Not Enough,” Kristo sets the tone by addressing his renowned saxophonist father, Frank Deruytter. Reflecting on the joys and pressures of growing up in a musically gifted household, Kristiaan shares, “My admiration unintentionally adds to the sense of expectation.”
Following the lead track is the debut single “Do I Miss You More,” where Kristo delves into the uncertainties of long-distance love. Through vulnerable lyrics, he navigates the complexities of emotions, exploring the fear of potential loss.
Childhood comprises five tracks, each drawing inspiration from Kristo’s life journey within a musical family and his experiences with youthful romance. Featuring instrumental contributions from his mother, father, brother, and uncle, the EP not only reflects his musical roots but also highlights his strong familial ties.
