Kurdish German artist, songwriter and producer Evin Kücükali also known as EVÎN has unveiled the music video for her latest single titled “Undefined“, which is taken from her upcoming self-titled EP.
EVÎN is known for her fusion of R&B and soul music with her oriental roots and melancholic vibes that is complemented by her lyrics which tell deep going stories inspired by life and beyond. Her inspirations and influences come from artists like James Blake, Rosalía, Jorja Smith, FKA twigs and Sufjan Stevens.
She has been releasing music since last year and has been working on her upcoming EP with producers such as Karl Kindermann and Jako, with the first taste of those collaborations being the new single “Undefined”. Her aim is to create a unique style and push the boundaries of music with her voice that is full of vulnerability and passion.
EVÎN was born in Germany to Laz and Kurdish immigrants, and because her father is a political journalist and activist, her political awareness shines through in her music, where, along with the personal matters she writes about, she also discusses issues like social injustice, female empowerment and commemorative culture in her songs.
Continuously developing herself, EVÎN seeks out to use music as a weapon to deal with anxiety, self-doubt and pressure. Hence singing in front of a crowd feels like reading her diary out loud, which creates an intimate connection to her audience.
