Nigerian star Reekado Banks and British-Mauritian singer and songwriter Lavaud have just dropped a brand new single called “Oh My”, which is the first offering from UK Independent label and studio PRMISE LAND, and the first track from Lavauds forthcoming album, the single was produced by Tuzi, with upcoming visuals directed by Christina Nwabugo.
The single is very sensual with a great mix of afrobeats and R&B that we are not used to, but it bangs differently, with the artists switching from English to French, with a chilled melody but upbeat instrumentals that make you want to get up and dance. Speaking about the track, Lavaud says “Oh My is about prayers coming true when you discover real love”.
Lavaud is from the East London, and her inspirations to make music are Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin and Beyonce, she got into the US Top 20 urban radio charts with her single “Deep” and also received recognition from the MOBO Awards ‘Next Up’ for the single “Pictures”.
While Afrobeats sensation Reekado Banks comes with over 175 million streams in total, and he will also be dropping a new album called Off The Record later this year with collaborations from Mr Eazi, Harmonize and Tiwa Savage, as he continues to expand into global audiences.
