Sony Pictures Entertainment has just released the second official trailer for the upcoming sci-fi thriller, Life, directed by Daniel Espinosa and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
The new trailer opens with playful banter between the members of an international space crew before they intercept a research pod from Mars. They discover an extraterrestrial life form and nurture it, only to realize with horror that the single-celled organism is sentient, dangerous and growing too quickly for them to handle. Life will narrate the space crew’s struggle to keep the life form from reaching, and possibly destroying, the Earth.
The first official trailer was only released yesterday, in addition to a pre-Super Bowl big game spot.
Life headlines top Hollywood actors Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson, all three of whom have had a busy year.
Gyllenhaal’s most recent work would be Nocturnal Animals (2016), though he has a handful of films set to release this year. Reynolds recently joined the multimillion dollar Marvel universe (though unaffiliated with Disney’s Marvel Cinematic Universe) with commercial success Deadpool (2016) and will be returning as Deadpool in 2018.
Meanwhile, Ferguson cemented her status as a bankable actress with Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and has been confirmed to reprise her role in the upcoming sixth installment to the Mission: Impossible franchise.
You can expect to see Life in theatres late March 2017!
