Christmas is all about family reunions, which is also what Young Money’s Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne took into account by releasing a brand new collaboration. Entitled “5 Star“, the track is taken off Lil Wayne’s recently released Dedication 6 Mixtape, the follow-up of Dedication 5 which dropped five years ago.
Kicking off with Nicki’s hook, it is quickly noticeable that the new song is a sample of Post Malone‘s and 21 Savage‘s hit “Rockstar” – remodelled into Nicki’s bossy and infectious attitude and Wayne’s unique signature sound.
Unsurprisingly the lyrics are about nothing else but girls, money and fame. However, did Onika threaten Cardi B or another nemesis in 5 Star? “All these hatin’ b*****s plottin/ why they can’t let me live/ Me and Weezy in Liv/ When my album drop these bitches is gon’ cry in the car.” Sounds rather suspicious.
